Story of Brahma Ji Temple
Mythology – After all, why did Savitri, wife of Brahma Ji curse Brahma Ji?
If we talk only about the word “Pushkar”, it literally means “pond”.
It is saying about the legend of the Brahma Ji Temple that once Brahma Ji decide to perform a Yagya with the intention of doing good to the earth. But he had to complete this Yagya without any hindrance.
In order not to encounter demons and obstacles, he looked for a place. While searching for a place for the Yagya, a lotus flower fell from the hand of Lord Brahma at that place. But the lotus flower cannot live without water. Because of this, Pushkar i.e. pond was forme there. Then Brahma Ji decided to perform a Yagya at this place.
After this Brahma Ji took out an auspicious time for the Yagya. When Brahma Ji was going to perform the Yagya, unfortunately, his wife Savitri could not reach there on time. But to perform this yajna, it was necessary for his wife to be with him. For this reason, to perform this Yagya, Bramhaji married a local shepherd, Bal Gayatri, and sat in the Yagya. That local shepherd Bal Gayatri performed all the rituals of the Yagya with him.
Seeing Brahma Ji doing this, his wife Savitri became very angry and she cursed her husband (Brahma Ji) that despite being a deity, his devotees would never worship him. While cursing, he also said that on this earth you will be worship only in Pushkar and if any of your devotees build your temple in another place, then it will never go well.
Due to this curse, there is no Brahma Ji Temple nor is he worship at any place other than the Pushkar temple.
